Wayne Brothers Incorporated is partnering with Cabarrus County Schools to launch an educational campaign showcasing some of the major aspects of applied technology in construction. October is declared as the “Month of Careers in Construction” by Governor Pat McCrory. This is an annual commemoration designated to increase public awareness and appreciation of construction craft professionals. Wayne Brothers is contributing to this effort by educating young people about the future and the many career opportunities available in the construction field.

Last week, Wayne Brothers hosted a week long educational workshop to welcome students from Cabarrus County Schools to visit the company’s new headquarters. The company opened its doors to eight middle schools with over 60 students visiting per day. The middle school students met one-on-one with industry experts to learn and observe aspects of technology used in the construction industry.

Milton Chicas, Training Director at WBI, commented that “October is a busy month for us; however, showcasing construction focused career opportunities to the next generation is important to us. This educational workshop will help students understand the importance of non-traditional disciplines for construction as well as all the rewards and benefits associated with a career in the industry”.
