Scope of Work
Wayne Brothers performed the cast-in-place concrete scope for a new state-of-the-art biologics manufacturing facility located in Wilson, NC. Our scope included constructing isolated and continuous footings, walls, grade beams, slabs, equipment pads, below-grade waterproofing and steel inserts throughout four separate buildings. A fast-paced schedule left no room for error which required carefully sequenced work between other trades, coordinated deliveries, and work plans continuously modified with daily pull planning sessions to ensure key project milestones were met.
Unique Challenges
The slabs located throughout the production building contained over 300 penetrations for mechanical piping running throughout the production building. This required proactive planning to coordinate penetration locations and sizes between trades using 3D modeling and fabrication of sleeve inserts to allow for a seamless installation of mechanical trades following the installation of concrete slabs.
