We were awarded Geostructural, Civil & Infrastructure, and Concrete scopes of work for the American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. This $33M renovation will be home to the Charlotte Independence professional soccer team of the United Soccer League. The new American Legion Memorial Stadium has the promise to one of the best soccer specific stadiums in the country.

Geostructural Solutions group installed deep foundations to provide structural support for the scoreboard. Drilled shafts were selected as the most appropriate deep foundation system to minimize concrete cap space given tight site constraints.

Civil scopes included installation of new greenway, seating and field excavation & grading, CIP culvert for storm water management, site utilities, roadway improvements, and curb & gutter. The 3 biggest challenges were:
1. Replacing a 470 linear feet underground culvert built in 1936 while it remained active!
2. Replacing 1250 linear feet of public sanitary lines while crossing a 20 inch critical supply water line in Uptown Charlotte.
3. We were able to get subgrade for FIFA certified field tolerance to a tenth of an inch to design.

Concrete scope includes foundations, seating bowl, CIP retaining walls and elevator towers, concourse paving, and numerous decorative concrete walls, sidewalks and hardscape.
