These employees are being recognized by a coworker for going above and beyond.
Scott Terpstra has set himself up to service our key production equipment on Saturday’s so we don’t lose anytime during the week with Mass Dirt moving. Thank you. – David Whitehead
Barbara Turner has completed payroll, bonuses, completed payroll for a short week. It doesn’t matter what the timeframe is, Barbara always seems to exceed expectations. It’s no surprise that Barbara gets it all done, all the time. The surprise would be if she didn’t, and that’s not happening. Thank you for all you do Barbara! – Joel Riddle
Kendal Hill helped Daniel and I the week before the grand opening in Walterboro pulling a fence down and smoothing out the gravel by the office trailers and picking trash out of the gravel when he didn’t have to his help was very much appreciated thank you Kendal! – Jimmy Swanner
I’d like to give a big shoutout to Clarence Walker and his team at CHS Airport for going above and beyond this week. They tackled a demanding scope of work that included the last-minute installation of well points, a 20×30 slide rail system, and an oil-water separator. During the O/W separator install, the team discovered that the correct lifting hooks hadn’t been delivered. With the nearest replacements over 3.5 hours away, Clarence and his crew stayed late to get the system in place—without a single complaint. Despite the unexpected challenge, they maintained their usual high standards and attention to detail, ensuring the client received the best possible final product. – Josh Byers
Cole Garner consistently goes above and beyond his job responsibilities, always looking for ways to better support both the project and field teams. Last Friday, while out of town, he noticed that the project model was outdated for work scheduled to take place the following day. As soon as he returned from his trip, Cole took the initiative to update the model and sent it out to the project team that same night, ensuring they had everything they needed for Saturday’s work. – Josh Byers
This past week, Victor Callender and Zane Lail hosted a Project Engineer retreat that brought together PEs from all three regions. The event was filled with team building, hands-on training, meaningful connections, and plenty of fun. It was an incredible experience and inspiring to see silos break down as PEs from different divisions connected, collaborated, and built lasting relationships. – Josh Byers
I just want to say thank you to Cole Garner for being who he is—always willing to go above and beyond to make sure we have what we need in the field, even if it means staying late on a Friday to do so. Your dedication doesn’t go unnoticed, and it’s genuinely appreciated.- Kristopher Morgan
James Fortana has been an exceptional Superintendent. Extremely consistent with pushing the field and keeping things moving. Has always gone above and beyond with starting early and sticking to the plan and seeing it to completion. He has been a huge support mechanism for the field. – David Whitehead
Frank Delano is the backbone for this teams field assistance. He is constantly on the move getting tasks done and keeps everything flowing and moving in a productive way and helping other crews put out fires so they can stay productive as well. Frank has taken pride in the erosion control and keeping the project flowing. – David Whitehead
During the intern final presentations, one of the interns shared with the entire group an emotional moment about Trey Gonzales. She explained that she was on the way to work one day and was hit on the interstate by a semi in her personal car. She called Trey and said that after making sure she wasn’t injured that he walked her through exactly what she needed to do, who she should call, and offered to drive out there and help her. She was emotional about how much it meant to her that Trey was so concerned and cared about her as a person. This is an incredible example of how we should be for others. – Brandon Lauerman
Kendall Hill listens very intently, pauses so he is sure not to make a snap decision, and responds as well as anyone I’ve ever seen in his position. His mild manner makes him easy to work with and makes me confident in his decisions as a supervisor. – Scott Terpstra
As soon as Chase Morrow gets through the door in the morning, he is looking to complete a task from the previous day, or to start a new task, so that damaged equipment is repaired and ready to be worked for the good of the company. Chase is setting the example in the Low country as a person with a lot of hustle. – Scott Terpstra
When Zack Brogan gets to a job site, he steps out of his truck ready to tackle any and all jobs. All of his tools are neatly organized in his toolboxes, and he can go straight to them when he needs them which makes him very efficient on a job site. He has led me, with specificity, to get him many different tools, while he was under a machine, as I was there to help. He also keeps his service truck very clean, both inside and out. It is a great display of how a service truck should be kept, and when others on the road see the truck, our company looks much better in our community because of it. – Scott Terpstra
