MAJOR GROWTH FOR CIVIL IN LOW COUNTRY
By Jim Rhodes, Senior Vice President, Civil & Infrastructure
Wayne Brothers’ Civil Group is up and running in the Low Country and we are here to stay! In the summer of 2023, WB broke ground on its Low Country Operations Center in Walterboro, SC. While our Sitework division has previously taken on select projects in the region, we had yet to establish a permanent presence with local hires and dedicated equipment—until now.
That all changed when we broke ground on the new Operations Center in the region. Once completed this will give us a home base in the Low Country and allow us to grow our civil group team, increase service offerings, and strengthen our local presence.
Strong Foundation
Between our Sitework and Geostructural divisions, the Civil Group has over $80 million in backlog. Our goal is to build lasting relationships with the region’s construction leaders; earning their trust and respect as we can continue to grow both our backlog and team.
With a focus in heavy industrial and manufacturing work, WB brings decades of expertise to the types of projects that are driving growth in the Low Country. Our civil group is currently working on projects in aerospace, manufacturing, transportation, and mission critical.
Local Commitment
We are committed to preserving the Wayne Brothers culture by relocating key leadership and tradesmen to the area but are hiring most of the team locally, so that we have real roots in the community.
As we continue expanding our multi-decade legacy of serving the Low Country, our mission remains the same: to be the number one construction services team by delivering value through combined scope and design-build services.
