Scope of Work
Wayne Brothers’ sitework team was awarded a grading project in the heart of downtown Concord, NC. The work included deep excavation for concrete foundations located between an existing parking deck and active city streets. Our team managed the excavation and designed and installed a pile and lagging shoring system to safely support the adjacent roadway while keeping it fully operational.
Unique Challenges
During project planning, it became clear that a deeper-than-expected excavation was needed, creating safety and logistical challenges in a tight urban setting. By proposing and executing a custom shoring solution, we maintained traffic flow and protected surrounding structures. Our ability to self-perform both the excavation and shoring work with the same crew reduced time, coordination efforts, and overall project costs.
