Scope of Work
Our team delivered a turnkey heavy-equipment foundation inside an active metals manufacturing facility, designing and installing the foundation in-house. The scope included concrete demolition, deep excavation, soil nail and shotcrete wall support, dewatering, and complex forming and shoring solutions. We integrated our engineering, geostructural, and concrete teams to safely build within tight operational constraints without disrupting production.
Unique Challenges
We removed 3-inch steel plates, concrete up to five foot thick, navigated around existing building foundations, and excavated a 20-foot vertical cut with four lifts of soil nails and shotcrete. Limited access and minimal overhead clearance required creative logistics, one-sided wall forms, and heavy shoring for the walls and elevated deck. Groundwater conditions required a well-point system, and to align with the client’s shutdown window, we operated double shifts to maintain schedule continuity.
