Scope of Work
Wayne Brothers successfully completed the site development for a 24-acre substation. Our scope included clearing, erosion and sediment control installation and maintenance, mass grading, lime treatment of the existing soils, storm drainage installation, and construction of the aggregate stone building pad. Throughout construction, Wayne Brothers maintained all erosion and sediment control measures in accordance with project requirements and environmental regulations.
Unique Challenges
The project required extensive lime stabilization to improve the existing on site soils and achieve the required subgrade performance, minimizing the need for imported material while maintaining the project schedule. A key challenge on this project was achieving a firm turnover date for the building pad while working under stringent construction specifications. Through detailed planning, proactive coordination, and disciplined execution, Wayne Brothers successfully met the required turnover milestone while maintaining the high safety and quality standards expected on Duke Energy projects.
