Scope of Work

Wayne Brothers provided complete equipment installation for a new Electrolytic Tough Pitch (ETP) copper rod Casting Line, managing the Millwright scope including the initial setting of the equipment to final precision alignment. Equipment ranged from 3,000 to 35,000 pounds and was installed both inside an active construction zone and outside the building footprint. Our team handled optical and laser alignment using a combination of Optical Alignment tooling and 3D Metrology then finished each piece with precision grouting.

Unique Challenges

With the building still under construction and multiple trades working simultaneously—including concrete, structural steel, electrical, and piping crews—tight coordination was critical. Installation took place in all weather conditions, with several heavy pieces requiring installation tolerances within +/- .001 of an inch (which is about 1/3 the thickness of a human hair). The precision demanded close collaboration, sequencing, and expert field alignment to meet quality and schedule expectations.
